Registration
The registration deadline is August 4. The registration includes two options:- Conference 20 €
- Conference & Dinner 60 €
Conference & Dinner option includes the same AND the dinner that will be held in Scandic Marski, Thursday, August 19 (Dinner menu).

Accommodation
We have reserved 15 single rooms and 5 double rooms at the newly-opened Cumulus Hakaniemi Hotel which is 10 minutes walk from the conference site, the National Archives of Finland. Prices between Aug 18 and Aug 21 are:- Single 85 € / room / night (NOTE: the price from Aug 20 to Aug 21 is 88 €)
- Double 115 € / room / night
There are plenty of other hotels nearby, e.g. Hilton Helsinki Strand, or you can try Citykoti one-room apartment hotels. Late August is the busiest tourist season of the year in Helsinki. Furthermore, a promising rock band from Ireland, U2, will be in the town at the same time… We recommend you to book accommodation as soon as possible.
How to get from the airport to the city centre
The cheap way: Take Finnair city bus just outside the international terminal, platform 10. The buses leave every 20 minutes. It takes 35 minutes to get to the Central Railway Station Elielinaukio which is at the heart of the city centre. The price is 5,90 €.Taxi drive to the city centre/Cumulus Hakaniemi Hotel takes approx. 30 minutes and costs approx. 40 €. See also Airport Taxi service.
How to get from the Central Railway Station to Cumulus Hakaniemi Hotel
- take metro to Hakaniemi station, second stop towards Vuosaari or Mellunmäki (NOT Ruoholahti), 3 minutes and 2,50 €
- take tram No. 6 (front of the main entrance) or buses (Railway Square), 5 minutes and 2,50 €
- take taxi, 5 minutes and approx. 12 €
- walk eastbound, 15 minutes

- The conference will take place in the lecture hall (max 60 persons) at the National Archives of Finland, Rauhankatu 17
- There are plenty of places for lunch near the conference site, e.g. Café Hausen at the National Archives and Piano, Rauhankatu 15 (Piano web page, in Finnish only)
- The get-together event will be at the Finnish Jazz & Pop Archive, Sörnäisten rantatie 25
- The dinner will be served in the city centre at Scandic Marski, Mannerheimintie 10
- The concert will be in a brand new jazz club Birdland, Mannerheimintie 6
