Q: The 8. Nordic Jazz Conference
A: The 8. Nordic Jazz Conference is hosted by Centre for Danish Jazz History and will take place at Aalborg University August 25th-27th 2009.

Q: Conference fee and sign up
A: The conference fee is Dkr. 475,- either prepaid or paid upon arrival. Please sign up before 1st August.

Q: Travel directions
A: Aalborg University and Centre for Danish Jazz History is located approx. 6 km from the city center.

Q: Hotels
A: The city of Aalborg has many hotels to offer but here are a few recomendations:

Hotel Aalborg Sømandshjem
Aalborg Sømandshjem is often used by visiting jazz musicians and the hotel offers single and double rooms with shower, WC, TV, telephone, WiFi etc. Smoker/nonsmoker rooms are available at the price of DKK 650,- (single room), DKK 850,- (double room), breakfast included.

Scandic Hotel Aalborg
Scandic Hotel Aalborg offers nice rooms with the possibility to use fitness, sauna and WiFi at no extra cost. Room prices N/A The hotel is within walking distance of the university.

Hotel Hvide Hus
Hotel Hvide Hus, Aalborg is conveniently located in the beautiful setting of Kildeparken with a magnificent view of the town. The hotel offers single and double rooms with large windows, balcony, minibar, telephone, hair-drier, trouser press, radio, six pay channels, 36 TV channels and Info TV. Bathroom with shower. Prices including breakfast are DKK 1.340,- (single room) DKK 1.425,- (double room).

Q: Conference language, length of speeches and technical facilities
A: The conference language is in the Nordic languages and english. Speakers decide in which language their presentation is to be held but please consider that there will be attendees from Germany, Finland, Australia and Latvia. Keynote speak is 45 min. All other speeches should be no longer than 30 min. Speakers is to contact thomasaj@hum.aau.dk if they need either more or less time.

On the technical side projector, Cd/DVD player, overhead and blackboard will be available.
